Warm and inviting, West Restaurant is a favorite among locals. Celebrate the best of California, from the distinctive growing season to the many boutique local wines. The richly appointed room offers every table stunning 200 degree views of the Los Angeles cityscape, from the downtown skyline to the beaches of Santa Monica. Happy Hour is served every day from 4-7pm and great live jazz happens every Friday from 8-11pm.

We really enjoyed the short rib sopas and beef sliders off the happy hour menu to start. The tuna tartare tacos, Brentwood salad with an assortment of fruits and our favorite, the blackened scallops with a delicious corn, bacon and avocado salad. For entrees, do not miss the lavender honey salmon as it was one of the best and biggest pieces of fish we have had in a long time. The scallops are to die for cooked to perfection and the fresh halibut was very tasty accompanied by pistachio and apricot cous-cous. They also have a nice selection of meats and a kid-friendly menu.

  

They also offer a nice 5 course tasting menu for $65 that can be paired with wine for $85, which is another nice way to go to try a variety of their fabulous food. You shouldn’t be in any hurry as you can see much of the city and freeway traffic while you have a great dining experience. Have one of their specialty cocktails or wines from their extensive list to enhance your meal. Finish off with the signature lava cake or tasty carrot cake with some fantastic ice cream.

  

Executive Chef Laura Scollan is super creative and does a wonderful job at the restaurant with her team. Chef Scollan brings a true passion for food and flavors as well as over 20 years of culinary experience. Having worked at several world class restaurants Scollan brings a high level of expertise and zeal for creating dishes with a flavorful impact and eye-catching presentation. Chef works close in hand with local Southern California growers and producers and can often be found scouring the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market for the best seasonal ingredients. The most hospitable manager is Jonathan Mitchell. He greets everyone and makes sure your dining experience is going great.
