Janga new Jamaican Restaurant in downtown Culver City looks to be a big hit- March 2016

The new Janga restaurant in downtown Culver City looks to be very popular. Besides the outstanding Jamaican food started by owner/chef Derrick (pictured in the above photo), the location and style seem to be very unique. Derrick has had his own restaurant not far away (Called Derricks Jamaican Cuisine) but this place looks like it will be a Gem. The staff and service were super hospitable and very experienced. The influence is from Derrick’s upbringing as he has some great creations and tasty food. Janga is the Jamaican word for Shrimp.

We wanted to try Jamaican food and what an experience quality food great staff and quick service. the real deal recipes right here downtown culver city. Some of the delicious food we had included the jerk chicken, spicy shrimp, fresh salmon, rice and beans (mixed together), plantains and amazing kale.  Two not to miss dishes include the musels  (they were the best we have ever had)  and the fresh tilapia.  Yes, also the best tasting kale we have had. Try some of their signature Jamaican drinks, wine and beer to enhance your meal. This restaurant is a one of a kind in the area and well worth to visit. We highly recommend it. Looks like they will be starting some live music in the near future as well to fit the vibe and attract more customers.
