The LA Galaxy took on the Seattle Sounders in a big game leading down the stretch run for the playoffs with a handful of games left at the Stub Hub Center. Seattle has been short-handed playing without star USA player Clint Dempsey who has been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat. LA has had many of their own issues with injuries but getting Landon Donovan back out of retirement will give them a boost even if he plays less than half of the second half of games. He is hoping to get his endurance up to play longer in the playoffs as the All Time best MLS player is key to the team’s success.  Actor Joe Lo Truglio was there to fire up the crowd.

Robbie Keane opened the scoring with a beautiful header off a Sebastian Lletget cross before an own goal by Van Damme off a corner kick tied it at 1-1. USA up and coming star Jordan Morris then broke open the game with a pair of goals over-matching the Galaxy defense especially Daniel Steres. Osvaldo Alonso added a 4th goal on a fantastic strike beating Goalie Brian Rowe before the Galaxy trimmed the lead to 4-2 off a penalty kick by Robbie Keane after sub Gerrard was pulled down in the box. 4-2 was the final score. Donovan did come in late but wasn’t much of a difference this game. LA needs to shore up their defense to have any shot moving forward and getting DeLeGarza back in the lineup would help.
