Sherman’s Deli Tasty Food & Tiki Bootleggers Bar in Palm Springs- January 2022

We stopped by the popular Sherman’s Deli for a delightful lunch. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, with a longer wait for outdoor seating. We choose to sit inside without waiting. The manager Sam was very welcoming, and the staff was hospitable.

We started with their signature homemade chicken matzah ball soup, and a cup of their mushroom barley soup. Both were very tasty.  Then we moved on to their signature corned beef sandwich, piled high with meat, tomato and lettuce. The second dish we never saw before, and was also very delicious.  It was called beef & latkas with a generous serving of pastrami made into a sandwich with two of their famous homemade potato latka pancakes in place of bread.  Sandwiches are served on their homemade deli Rye bread with your choice of potato salad or cole slaw. We also order a side dish of their delicious potato knish served with a side of gravy.

They have a wide assortments of homemade desserts in their bakery, located at the front entrance. We went with the tasty chocolate rughula and marionberry cheesecake.

Our server Renatta has been there for 18 years, and is full of stories & Deli history. We highly recommend Sherman Deli on your next Palm Springs visit.  A second location is in Palm Desert.

Tiki Bootlegger-

Looking for a place to have drinks and fun in Palm Springs?  The Bootlegger Tiki fits that request.  They serve handcrafted drinks and delicious tiki cocktails made up by the bartenders and staff. No food is served except the complimentary popcorn.  This is a popular spot and reservations are highly recommended.  They are located in the same space as the original Don the Beachcomber restaurant that opened in 1953, and want to uphold the same tiki traditions.
