MYSTIC SWAMP WILDLIFE KAYAK TOUR with NEW ORLEANS KAYAK SWAMP TOURS

During your New Orleans visit if seeing alligators and additional wildlife in the Louisiana swamps is on your itinerary, I highly recommend venturing into the swamps on a guided kayak swamp tour. Making a reservation was extremely easy and only took a few minutes; reservations options include via the phone, online or at your hotel front desk. They answered all my questions and were very friendly. They have a few tour options, depending on how long you want to spend kayaking through the swamp.
The tour started with being picked up in a New Orleans Kayak Swamp Tours van in the French Quarter by our tour guide. There I met my kayak group; a variety of ages and kayak experiences. Transportation is not included, however I recommend using the transportation option for a small add on fee, unless you have your own vehicle. We drove to the kayak launch location, with a quick restroom stop on the way. During the hour plus drive our guide pointed out numerous New Orleans historical sites and shared unique elements of New Orleans rich cultural history.
At the launch location we were provided with a kayak lesson that made first timers comfortable, and a refresher for us long timers. During the two and half hour guided kayak tour we witnessed numerous alligators, coming within 10 feet of them. We also spotted a large variety of swamp wildlife both in the water and on land. Our kayak tour guide was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. As he grew up in the area he pointed out numerous wildlife that our naked eyes had missed throughout the trip.
