Defending Champ Nuggets hold off the Bucks in Denver- Jan. 2024

A big matchup between two of the top teams in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets hosting the Milwaukee Bucks at Ball arena in Denver Colorado on January 29th.  The NBA champion Nuggets and finals MVP Nikola Jokic were too tough to handle after a close game throughout until late in the fourth quarter. Jokić ended with a triple double with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and Jamal Murray was on fire and led the team with 35 points with some incredible shots and drives to the basket.

The Bucks were led by former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who had 26 points but, in the end, it was the Nuggets defense that won the game. Aaron Gordon played some great defense throughout before fouling out as did Caldwell Pope, who had the job to guard all-star Damian Lillard, who had an average night.

This was the debut of new Bucks coach, Doc Rivers, who signed a contract through the 26–27 season to help get this team over the hump.  They fired head coach, Adrian Griffin, even though the team had a 30-13 record as there’s just been some inconsistencies & the front office made the big move. The Nuggets are in third place in the Western Conference and a formidable foe in the playoffs if everybody’s healthy. Coach Mike Malone was very energetic on the sidelines and never let up. The final score was 114-109 and you can see more www.nba.com/nuggets
