The LA Kings defeat rival Edmonton 4-0 before going on a 4 game road trip- Feb. 2024

This was a big game for the LA Kings after the All-Star break versus their rival Edmonton Oilers.  The visitors have knocked the Kings out of the playoffs the last 2 years & Edmonton had won 16 games in a row going into the break until that was snapped 2 games ago versus Vegas. The Kings have been struggling of late but made a change replacing head coach Todd McClellan with new coach, Jim Hiller (who has been an assistant coach with the team for a while).

Edmonton was coming off off back to back game vs the Ducks and came out flat vs The Kings, who ended up winning 4-0.   Quinton Byfield scored two goals & Trevor Lewis and Dubois each scored one. David Rittich started in goal and played flawlessly. The Oilers awesome duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were kept quiet in this rare night. LA is now only three points behind Edmonton and in  fourth place in the Western Division  The team played a solid game overall with a few miscues but in the end had enough to defeat the visiting Oilers.  The team hits the road for a 4 game road trip next.  More www.nhl.com/kings.
