Hotel Krallerhof 5 star resort in Austria feels like a dream with incredible surroundings- May 2026
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Krallerhof with its onsite Wellness Resort and it truly exceeded every expectation. It is in a town called Leogang in the state of Salzburg. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt seamless and genuinely welcoming. The reception staff were warm and attentive, and the servers, bellmen, and drivers all contributed to an atmosphere of effortless hospitality. One standout touch: they even offer pickup from the nearby train station, which made arrival incredibly easy and stress-free.
The setting is nothing short of spectacular. The 50-meter infinity pool is a highlight in itself—beautifully designed and uniquely surrounded by a cold lake, creating a striking contrast. Swimming there while taking in the panoramic mountain backdrop is unforgettable. The entire atmosphere feels serene, elevated, and deeply connected to nature.
The wellness facilities are exceptional. The sauna and steam rooms are perfect for relaxation and recovery, complemented by a cold plunge that’s both invigorating and refreshing. I also tried the cryotherapy chamber for three minutes and a six-minute red light therapy session—both left me feeling noticeably rejuvenated and energized. It’s clear the resort puts real thought into offering modern, high-quality wellness experiences.
Dining was another standout. Breakfast and dinner are included, and the buffet breakfast in particular is outstanding. There’s a wide array of options: eggs made to order, cereals, yogurt, cheeses, meats, and fresh orange juice. A personal favorite was the juicing station, where you can create your own blends with ingredients like carrots, ginger, apples, and celery—such a thoughtful and healthy touch.
What really sets the resort apart is its family-owned charm. We had the chance to meet members of the family during our stay, and their friendliness and hospitality added a personal, authentic feel to the entire experience. The room was very spacious, comfortable and had great views.
The resort strikes a great balance between tranquility and inclusivity. There’s a dedicated adults-only wellness area for those seeking quiet relaxation, alongside family-friendly pools and spaces. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, there are hiking trails nearby, and the hotel offers bike rentals for exploring the area.

Location-wise, it’s also ideal. The resort is not far from Kaprun, where I spent a fantastic day skiing on the glacier—an easy and worthwhile excursion.
