Lola Rose delicious Mediterranean restaurant & Hall Winery at the Thompson Hotel in downtown Palm Springs- June 2026
Lola Rose at the Thompson Palm Springs is one of the most exciting dining experiences in downtown Palm Springs. Blending Mediterranean, Greek, and Persian influences with California’s seasonal ingredients, the restaurant delivers a sophisticated yet approachable menu designed around sharing, discovery, and bold flavors. Located inside the stunning Thompson Hotel, the space is modern, stylish, and vibrant, with an atmosphere that feels equally suited for a special occasion, a date night, or a lively evening with friends. This was our favorite dining place we have experienced in Palm Springs.
The meal began with several standout mezze selections. The Fire Roasted Eggplant was exceptional—silky, smoky roasted eggplant layered with creamy garlic yogurt and topped with crispy fried shallots that added the perfect crunch. The Hummus was rich and velvety with smoked sun-dried tomatoes, crispy chickpeas, and fresh parsley. Adding the grilled lamb bacon elevated the dish even further, bringing a savory, smoky richness that made it impossible to stop dipping.
The Grilled Santa Barbara Spot Prawns are an absolute must-order. Beautifully prepared with Persian yogurt, black lime, and a unique harissa coffee marinade, the prawns were tender, succulent, and packed with layers of flavor that perfectly showcased the restaurant’s Persian and Mediterranean inspirations.
We also enjoyed the burrata appetizer, which was bursting with fresh Mediterranean flavors and complemented beautifully by the Farmers Market Greens. The greens were light, crisp, and refreshing, featuring petite lettuces, za’atar-spiced pita, and a bright herb vinaigrette that balanced the richer dishes perfectly.
One of the smartest ways to experience Lola Rose is through the Petite Mezze Feast. This thoughtfully curated offering includes a green, a spread, a plate, two condiments, one kebab or specialty selection, and their signature chelow rice with tahdig. It provides an excellent tour through the menu and allows diners to sample multiple specialties in one sitting.
For our other selections, we chose the Falafel and the Wahoo-Ono fish. The Falafel was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within, accompanied by a delicious garlic yogurt dressing, marinated cucumber, and fresh herbs that brought brightness to every bite. The Wahoo-Ono was equally impressive, delicately seasoned with garlic, turmeric, and lemon, allowing the freshness of the fish to shine while still delivering bold Mediterranean character. Both dishes were accompanied by fragrant specialty rice and an assortment of house-made condiments that added even more depth and personalization to the experience.
Beyond the food, the service was outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely hospitable. Their professionalism elevated the entire evening and made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived.
Chef Quentin Garcia’s menu draws inspiration from the vibrant culinary traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean, creating a dining experience that feels both worldly and uniquely Palm Springs. From the stylish indoor-outdoor setting and inventive cocktails to the exceptional mezze and seafood offerings, Lola Rose has quickly become one of the city’s premier dining destinations.
Highly recommended and absolutely worth a visit.

Having visited HALL’s Napa Valley location earlier this year, we were excited to discover their beautiful new Palm Springs tasting room, and it did not disappoint. Conveniently located adjacent to the lobby of the Thompson Hotel in downtown Palm Springs, Hall Wines brings a true wine country experience to the desert in a sophisticated and welcoming setting. The modern design, comfortable seating, and elegant atmosphere create the perfect environment to relax, unwind, and explore some exceptional wines.
Our experience was made even more memorable by Samantha, the manager, whose warm hospitality set the tone for the afternoon. Vanessa (pictured below) was equally outstanding, guiding us through the tasting with knowledge, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for the wines. She expertly selected and poured a wonderful variety of wines, making the tasting both educational and enjoyable.
We began with a refreshing splash of rosé, a bright and crisp introduction that perfectly suited the Palm Springs setting. From there, we moved into several white wines, including a selection of Chardonnays and other white varietals sourced from some of California’s most celebrated growing regions. The Chardonnays showcased the differences beautifully—some offering richer textures and notes of stone fruit and vanilla, while others displayed brighter acidity, citrus characteristics, and minerality depending on their vineyard origins. The tasting room features wines from HALL, WALT, and BACA, allowing guests to experience a diverse portfolio that highlights distinctive vineyard sites throughout California.
The true stars of the afternoon, however, were the Pinot Noirs. WALT Wines has built a reputation around exceptional Pinot Noir, and it was easy to understand why. Bob’s Ranch Pinot Noir was absolutely stunning, delivering layers of dark cherry, raspberry, spice, and earthy complexity with a silky finish. Another standout was the Clos Pepe Pinot Noir, which offered remarkable elegance, balance, and depth, showcasing the unique characteristics of its acclaimed Santa Rita Hills vineyard source. Both wines demonstrated the finesse and sophistication that make great Pinot Noir so captivating.
One of the things we appreciated most was the flexibility of the tasting experience. Guests can choose from curated tasting flights, individual tastings, wines by the glass, or simply enjoy a favorite bottle while relaxing in the lounge. The team also offers thoughtful food pairings and small bites from Lola Rose that complement the wines beautifully.
The Palm Springs location captures the same level of excellence we’ve experienced at HALL’s Napa Valley properties while creating a uniquely desert-inspired atmosphere. Whether you’re a serious wine enthusiast or simply looking for a beautiful place to enjoy an afternoon glass of wine, this tasting room is a fantastic addition to downtown Palm Springs.
The hospitality from Samantha, Vanessa, and the entire staff was exceptional. Their warmth, knowledge, and attention to detail transformed a wine tasting into a truly memorable experience.
