Resort Day Pass Visits at the Sofitel in Moorea & Westin in Bora Bora, Tahiti are not to miss- Sept. 2026
A truly glowing and spectacular experience at The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa—this is one of those places that feels almost too beautiful to be real. The completely renovated resort is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear turquoise water, gorgeous beaches, incredible views of Mount Otemanu, and a setting that makes you want to slow down and enjoy every minute.
We came over by water taxi/shuttle, and even the journey to this beautiful property is part of the experience. The resort has been beautifully transformed in recent years, and everything feels fresh, luxurious, and exceptionally well cared for. They have an eco center session in the morning explaining how it works and all about turtles so that was very interesting.
The day-pass experience is fantastic, with so much to enjoy. You can make the most of the private lagoon and beach, relax on the comfortable lounge chairs and beach beds, enjoy the infinity pool with those spectacular Otemanu views, and take advantage of the non-motorized water equipment. That includes kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, snorkeling equipment, and other water activities. There are also bicycles, beach activities such as volleyball, badminton and beach tennis, plus the beautiful pool and beach areas for simply relaxing in paradise.
If you want to stay active, the Westin WORKOUT fitness center is excellent, with modern Technogym equipment, and there are wellness activities including yoga, Pilates and paddle yoga.
And then there is the breakfast buffet—which was absolutely off the charts! The selection was incredible, with so many choices that you could easily spend a long time enjoying breakfast. One of the best touches was being able to order an omelette directly from your server, prepared exactly the way you like it and brought right to your table. It was the perfect combination of an amazing buffet and made-to-order service.
I would also make sure to check out the Heavenly Spa. Booking a massage with one of their wonderful therapists is a must. The spa is beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect place to unwind after a day in the lagoon. For couples, there is an especially memorable option where you can be massaged side by side in a couples treatment room, with an incredible view surrounding you. It is hard to imagine a more relaxing setting for a massage. We enjoyed the incredible massage treatments and highly suggest an appointment when visiting.
Dinner is another highlight. Make a reservation at Maere and be prepared for something special. The menu changes constantly, with the chef creating a different themed experience featuring fresh, locally inspired ingredients. One night might take you in one culinary direction and another night somewhere completely different, making each visit feel like a new experience.
And throughout the entire experience, the staff and service were absolutely top-notch. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful, with special thanks to Florence and Julianne, who helped make the experience even more memorable.
We visited one of their water bungalow rooms and will have to come back for a stay next time.
From the spectacular lagoon and beach to the incredible food, spa, water activities, fitness center, and exceptional service, The Westin Bora Bora is simply a dream. Whether you come for a day pass, a meal, a spa treatment, or a longer stay, it is a property that delivers that unforgettable Bora Bora feeling from the moment you arrive.

We had a wonderful buffet dinner at the Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea Beach Resort (pictured above) , with an impressive selection of dishes to suit every taste. The sashimi was definitely the highlight for me—fresh, beautifully presented, and something I kept going back for.
There was also a wide variety of fresh salads, cooked fish, meats, and cheeses, followed by a fantastic selection of desserts and plenty of ice cream. There was so much to choose from that it was easy to find something delicious at every course.
What made the evening particularly special was the Polynesian show. After dinner, the traditional dancers put on a lively and beautiful performance, with energetic dancing, music, and a wonderful display of Polynesian culture.
The evening finishes with an impressive fire dance, with the performers moving and spinning flaming torches against the backdrop of the lagoon and beach. It is a spectacular way to end the meal and really adds to the atmosphere of the whole experience. The Sofitel currently lists its Polynesian evenings on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with traditional dancing followed by a fire show.
Overall, it was much more than just a buffet dinner—it felt like a complete Polynesian evening, combining great food, entertainment, and an unforgettable island setting.
