Wine list and incredible atmosphere? Why not try “French 75” located in the Westfield
Shopping Center in Century City next to Gelsons market. The owner has a nice niche of
five French 75 Bistros from Burbank to Orange County as well as some other fine
restaurants. As you are walking into the restaurant, it seems like a simple place
situated in the shopping mall. Well, this is no average place! The beautiful live piano
music, plush booths with a fine décor of red background lighting behind the bar, red
lamps and candles makes you feel very special for your fine dining experience.
Some of the starters consist of fresh Pacific Oysters, Gulf Shrimp, King Crab
Legs, Dungeness Crab Cake, and my favorite- the spicy Ahi Tuna Tartare with avocado,
crispy sesame crust and chile sauce. Definitely a must if you can handle the little
spice. A nice selection of Soups and Salads are next. The suggestion here is the
French Onion Soup (how could you pass at this French Restaurant?) and the Heirloom
Tomatoes salad. You must give both a try.
The main course is a tossup between some of their delectable seafood choices such
as Fresh Halibut which is so moist and comes with vegetables and tasty mashed potatoes;
Trout Meuniere with hazelnut butter, forest mushrooms and fingerling potatoes; or the
French Onion Salmon in a black pepper crust, mashed potatoes and sweet onion jus. Not
in the food for fish, some of the house specialties include Coq Au Vin Chicken braised
in red wine and served tableside; Short Ribs also in a red wine sauce and mashed
potatoes; Roast Rack of Lamb; Two Way Duck breast with sun dried cherry sauce; Beef
Stroganoff with buttered noodles; Chicken & Mushroom or Spinach, Artichoke & Mushroom
Crepes. The American Steaks include Porterhouse, NY, Rib Chop or the Filet all seared
on blue steel pans and all are prime, corn fed/hand selected Midwestern Beef! Choose
a side of double baked potato or other styles and a variety of veggies to accompany
your entree.
Enjoy the Chocolate or Banana Crepes or Apple Tart along with a special after dinner
drink or specialty coffee to finish off your great meal! This a great place for a
