The beautiful Club Med Village in Trancoso, Brazil is a destination worth visiting. From the fabulous atmosphere; terrific weather(for the most part as it may rain a bit for a short while); great sports & activities; gourmet food including many fresh fish & fruit selections; spectacular beaches and warm/clean ocean water as well as an incredibly friendly atmosphere. It?s located in the state of Bahia and a one-hour auto ride from Porto Seguro Airport.
Chief of the Village, Severio Friselli, welcomes you with his generous warmth and helpfulness, during your stay. Make certain to visit Sergio, head of the Excursion Office, so you can plan an exciting adventure outside the club. They offer many fascinating trips and ideas!
The club features one big swimming pool, situated in the center of the Village, for swimming, lounging, water volleyball & aerobics. There is a nice boutique for shopping; a full spa featuring all types of treatments & massages, a sauna, steam room and workout room. A well maintained mini-club med is available for children as the club is frequented by many families as well as couples and singles.
As far as sports is concerned, there are some fun options, lessons and availability to participate in some competitions such as tennis, soccer, archery, volleyball, kayaking & sailing. I recommend taking advantage of the sailing as it closes quite often due to large waves. The beach is a good five-minute walk down the terrain of stairs through the beautiful forest like scenery. The kayaking, sailing and other planned activities such as dancing and a once a week evening party is located there as well. It is a pleasure to swim in the warm/colorful ocean water. It is safe and not too deep. There are plenty of activities to participate in or just relax by the pool or beach.
There is no shortage of good food served at breakfast (7:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.); lunch (12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.); dinner (8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.). The wide assortment of homemade breads, variety of cheeses, fresh fruits and salads are available at each meal. For breakfast, eggs made anyway you’d like, cereals, yogurt, crepes and many other popular specialties are served. At lunch and dinner, the options range from fresh Brazilian fish, rotisserie chicken, different meats and other amazing creations made especially for you by the chef. Club Med offers full bars with quite an extensive wine list. The wait staff, greeters and chefs are friendly and helpful. Unlike another resort I visited (Costa de Sauipe) which had some nice parts, most everyone @ the Club Med Trancoso spoke English. You can’t imagine how frustrating or what a waste of time it is when you are unable to communicate. This Village was on top of everything and handled all my requests/questions in a timely and appropriate manner.
After each dinner, the GO’s (people working @ Club Med) initiate and partake in the Club Med crazy signs with music and interactive fun. This is followed by a different variety show every night of the week from comedy, French cabaret, 70’s theme, dance variety and GM (people visiting) participation. After the shows, the nightclub/disco opens with all types of dance music and fun for anyone who wants to stay out late. Once a week, the nightclub is turned into a very romantic dinner setting with candles. For this you must make a reservation and the earlier the better. This feature is at no extra cost to you. Another nighttime alternative is to sit by the pool with background music being played while lounging and watching the beautiful moon and stars.
