“Pesce”-The best Fish Restaurant in Houston, Texas (11/04)

                                      

If you are looking for the best Fish in Houston with fabulous atmosphere; look no further as the only choice is "Pesce" (located at 3029 Kirby Dr.). Executive Chef, "Mark Holley pictured here has made this place what it is. Some of his awards include Best Chef in 2001/2002 by (Inside Houston) and Best Chef in 2003 by (My Table Magazine). Chef Holley is from Dayton, Ohio and he started cooking with his mom before making it to Houston and working under some of the best chefs around as Saucier at the Meridian Hotel and Four Seasons Inn on the Park. The extensive menu includes such appetizers as the Big Easy Shrimp (New Orleans style in a spicy delicious sauce); Oysters; Smoked Salmon; and their signature starters (The Seafood Martini with Crab, Shrimp, Avocado and more) and the Study in Tuna comprised of smoked Tuna, Sashimi/Sushi & Seared Tuna.  Seafood Gumbo, Red Fish Soup and Lobster Bisque are other great ways to go. A collection of fabulous seafood salads are also available.

Onto the specialties of the House. The Tasty Entrees include Fresh Ahi; Snapper, Seafood Stew; Grilled Shrimp; Cornmeal Crusted Redfish; Crab Cakes; Halibut; Flounder and the fresh catch of the day. I had the grilled swordfish which melted in my mouth with veggies and a side of potatoes. The presentation is extraordinary which enhances how great it tastes already.  Other options if you are not in the mood for fish include Duck, New Zealand Venison, and Filet Mignon.

Dessert specialties include the sky high Lemon Meringue Pie, Crème Brule, Banana Split, or Pear Crostata with ice cream which I had.

The hospitality is incredible from all of the staff. The atmosphere is great which includes a beautiful fish tank near the entrance and a circular bar where you can dine as well and overlook the whole place and open kitchen.
