WIRED TO WIN: Surviving the Tour de France

Shot during the 2003 Tour de France, the IMAX film currently shown at the California Science Center in Los Angeles is an intriguing portrait of how body and mind work together and create miracles.

For everyone who ever wondered what goes on inside the brain of a professional cyclist during the world`s most popular cycling race, the film illustrates the role of the human brain during the tough competition.

Produced by the Partners HealthCare System, the filmmaking team worked together with an impressive group of scientists, neuroscientists, psychiatrists and neuroanatomists.

You get both: Entertainment and education. WIRED TO WIN depicts how the human body adapts to physical endeavor using the examples of FDJeux Team riders Baden Cooke and Jimmy Casper.  The true story about walking the thin line between fatigue and staying motivated to complete the grueling three-week race is as fascinating as the fast moving computer- animated sequences.

If  you want to experience the film in a great atmosphere, take the opportunity and visit the IMAX Theater located in the historic Exposition Park, L.A. until November 29th.  In addition, if you want to explore the subject further visit the California Science Center`s World of Life exhibit, Brains on Parade.
