Dodgers defeat Mets in a battle of Japanese pitchers and Kemp’s offense (7/10)

July 22, 2010 the NY Mets came to Los Angeles for a 7:10PST game. It was a beautiful night.  It was basically a two man show this game. Hiroki Kuroda pitched 8 shutout innings and was on his game. Matt Kemp doubled over a confused Jeff Francoeur’s head in the first to score Jamey Carroll. Granted it would have been a great play but Francoeur looked like he was in a twirling circus changing directions three times before he missed it.  Kemp added a solo Home Run to complete the scoring 2- final score.

80 year old & in great shape Dodger announcer, Vin Scully commented that this was the 857th consecutive ‘Dodger’ game without a rain out, setting a record.  It was an all Japanese’ pitchers duel in the Dodger victory. Kuroda came into the game with a 4-0 head to head record against the Met’s pitcher, Hisanori Takahashi, while playing against each other in Japanese League.

The Dodger crowd was scattered with Met fans, but the home Dodger fans were much more boisterous. Make sure to get your Dodger Dogs, cause they are even better in the summer with a Margaritas, that are now sold at Dodger Stadium! It was Manny Ramirez action figure night and the crowd loved it even though he was not playing but he should return soon. The teams continue the four game series with Johan Santana facing Vincente Padilla on Friday.  More at www.dodgers.com
