The restaurant was voted one of the World’s Best Restaurants in San Diego by the Zagat survey; awarded a Gold Medallion Award for Best Pizza from the California Restaurant Association; named Best Salad, Best Pizza, and Best Lunch by Las Vegas Weekly; and given the title of Best Gourmet Pizza by the San Diego Union-Tribune. 

 

The restaurant is known for their expansive assortment of pizzas and pastas that can be made with five types of crusts—including Whole Wheat, Gluten-Free, Artisan Thin, Neapolitan, and Traditional—made with organic flour daily and also available for purchase. Menu highlights include:

·         Organic Arugula and Pear pizza with Prosciutto, Gorgonzola, organic Arugula Salad, and Balsamic Basil dressing ($12.50)

·         Brie Cheese with Truffle Oil pizza with Fresh Sautéed Wild Mushroom, and Brie imported from France ($12)

·         Creamy Feta Cheese dessert pizza, made with Mild Sheep Cheese from Macedonia, Oregano, Orange Blossom Honey, and flaky, thin crust ($12)

Sammy’s signature fresh salads and wraps are accompanied with housemade dressings and include:

·          Balsamic Grilled Chicken with Mixed Greens, Walnuts, Gorgonzola, and Balsamic Basil dressing ($10)

·          Flaked White Tuna and Organic Spinach salad with Cucumber, Sunflower Seed, Tomato, Basil, and Vinaigrette ($10)
