Bastille Day Festival in LA Preview for July 14, 2013
Enjoy the French Art of Pleasure
At the
BASTILLE DAY LOS ANGELES FESTIVAL
SUNDAY, JULY 14, 2013
KENNETH HAHN PARK
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 9, 2013) – If you are wondering how to say ‘pleasure’ in French, ‘plaisir’ is the word and French people master the art! No translator is needed to enjoy ‘la vie en rose’ the way ‘les Français’ do. Passions Productions has prepared an eight-hour program of ‘plaisir’ to bask you in during the Bastille Day Los Angeles Festival on Sunday, July 14th. Get ready for a day of Cancan, frou-frou, fashion, flair, yummy French food, tasty rosé wine, and French 1664 Blanc ‘à la mode de Paris’!
European artist PATjE — raised between Marseille, Barcelona and Geneva, and a favorite of Latino DJs with his album ‘Pasaporte’ — is back at the helm of the Festival’s entertainment. He has concocted an amazing show with a medley of talents performing in both Voltaire and Shakespeare’s languages. Throughout the day, attendees will share Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, the very ideals of democracy and faith ushered in by the French revolutionary spirit of 1789, and admire on stage acts such as:
– Excuse My French, the world’s only all female, all French singing, all American rock band whose winning combination of showmanship, mesmerizing harmonies and the language of love have wowed audiences since the spring of 2010;
– Titelle, a French couture designer who will re-invent ‘La Marianne des Temps Modernes,’ creating live on stage the Blue White & Red dress a French ‘Marianne’ would wear nowadays;
– Yesteryears Dancers a costumed historical dance troupe that reenacts French Renaissance court and ball dances, accompanied by Les Plaisirs Champêtres, a group of musicians playing traditional instruments such as the “musette de cour” (French Baroque court bagpipe);
– Energetic, sexy Cancan dancers choreographed by Lauren Brim and Kris Jobson. Dazzling, fun and so very French!
Or
– Evyn Charles, a soulful and engaging singer who delivers superb vocals with an extensive repertoire of classic French songs.
Angelenos will also enjoy a great array of off-stage activities such as the traditional Pétanque game initiating them to the French Art of Living. The French Soccer Institute team will offer outstanding soccer activities for the day. Tons of fun guaranteed!
At 1:45pm, Mr. Axel Cruau, the French Consul General in Los Angeles, will deliver an opening speech and officially kick off this celebration commemorating the storming of the Bastille prison on July 14, 1789 that marked the beginning of the French Revolution.
Bastille Day Los Angeles Festival’s partner, Kronenbourg, France’s best-selling super premium beer and the fifth oldest beer brand in the world, will introduce 1664 Blanc, its newest product to Festival’s attendees. Its highly distinctive brand positioning that leverages its quality and also its French origin, delivers the promise of “The French Art of Pleasure in your beer moment”.
Other Festival’s partners include: TV5MONDE, the UNION DES FRANCAIS DE L’ETRANGER, CALMADA BOUTIQUE HOTEL, the FRENCH DISTRICT, the CLUB CULINAIRE OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, the HERALD DE PARIS, the international business school VATEL, EVIAN and BADOIT waters, FABRIQUE DELICES, the traditional French aperitif wine LILLET, and the newly released SACHA LICHINE Single Blend Rosé wine.
