Flemings in San Diego serving top notch steaks, seafood, great drinks- April 2014

We had an incredible dining experience at Flemings in San Diego.  The décor is beautiful and people rush to get in right when they open for prime seats and their happy hour deals. The bar area gets crowded fast as it is first come first to dine there or make your reservation for the main dining room for one of the nice tables or booths.

Some of the excellent appetizers included the shrimp with a French quarter bbq sauce that was delicious. The sweet chili calamari and jumbo shrimp cocktail was also a big hit.  Small plates included the New Zealand petite lamp chops that were so tender and juicy.  They have some other fantastic selections and salads as starters but the real reason we came was to have some of the best steaks around.

The dry aged New York steak was very high quality and flavorful. The truffle poached lobster sauce that went on top was a special addition.  We also had the special bone-in filet mignon which is rare to find but worth the visit alone.  It was cooked to perfection and topped with a wonderful king crab and herb butter simmered with fresh herbs and garlic, topped with caviar.  Other entrée options included prime rib, salmon, swordfish, chicken breast and double thick pork rib chop.

Don’t miss the variety of their side dishes to go with your meal that included Flemings potatoes, the house specialty with cream, jalapeños and cheddar cheese, rosemary and garlic cipollini onions and creamed spinach to name a few.

The martinis and specialty cocktails went great with our appetizers and we suggest some of their great wines from their extensive wine list to accompany your main course.  Their pinot noirs go very well with the meat.

Finish off your meal with one of their tasty desserts such as the NY cheesecake, three layer carrot cake, walnut turtle pie or signature chocolate lava cake. If you are looking for a high quality meal and wonderful dining experience, definitely check out Flemings in San Diego or any of their other locations nationwide as you will be extremely satisfied.
