Pieology Pizzeria in Culver City offers up tasty quick food- May 2015

When you walk into Pieology Pizzeria in Culver City you are immediately greeted by a friendly face and a station loaded with toppings to create your very own personal pizza.  You get to choose from three different crusts (white, wheat, and gluten free), six different cheeses, seven different meats, and fifteen different types of veggies.  There are countless combinations which we love and Pieology gives you the option to build your own masterpiece with unlimited toppings.  We went traditional with the pepperoni and sausage for meats but loaded it with uncommon toppings we normally can’t get at other places like artichokes and roasted red bell peppers.  The crust was thin and crispy, perfectly cooked, and I enjoyed every bite.  Although we had over ten toppings, they were well balanced and the pizza was very easy to eat. We also tried the wheat crust with chicken and plenty of toppings as well as the gluten free crust, which was a nice option as well.

Pieology also has two types of salads: the Classic and the Caesar.  We tried both and the Classic had candied walnuts, organic greens, gorgonzola cheese, dried cranberries, and a raspberry vinaigrette dressing.  The dressing was fantastic.  It had the perfect amount of sweetness and went well with the bitterness of the greens and richness of the cheese.  Overall the sweetness of the salad from the candied walnuts and vinaigrette paired perfectly with the savory pizza.  The caesar was also tasty with chicken breast.

The service at Pieology was second to none.  The individual making our pizzas was very kind and thorough fresh-out-of-the-oven pizza was delivered to my table within minutes of us sitting down and filling our drinks.  The decor is very minimalistic (a lot of black and white) but the place is well lit and written all over the walls are famous quotes from various historical figures of today and yesterday (everything from Gandhi to John Wooden).  Personally, they were great conversation starters for our table.

Overall we would definitely recommend Pieology in Culver City.  The prices are extremely fair (under ten dollars) and the portion size is more than large enough to fill you up or to share with a friend.  The countless pizza options make it very family friendly because everybody can get what they want.  The staff is courteous, the ingredients are fresh, and the pizza is made right in front of you.  We love lots of toppings on our pizzas (the more the better) and Pieology in Culver City gives us exactly what we want.
