Take me to the River New Orleans Live fantastic show in Malibu- October 2019

Wow, what a show on October 27th, 2019 at the beautiful”Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts, Pepperdine University, 2019.” in Malibu at Pepperdine University.  It brought me back to Jazzfest in New Orleans to remind me why I have gone quite a few times including earlier this year.  .   First up was Big Chief Romeo and he started out mellow but then blasted into some higher energy music with his great chief attire.   Mr. Wolfman Washington was up next as he came out with his iconic bluesy guitar and flashy red suit entertaining the crowd.   Ivan Neville on the keyboard and vocals led the full night throughout with Ian Neville on guitar along with the Dirty Dozen Brass band coming in with each group to include their fabulous horns.  Overall, the show was fantastic and crowd was buzzing even leading to many people getting up dancing in front of the stage including me.  You had to get up on your feet and move to the wonderful music.   This show and these acts are not to miss on any future dates you hear they are going to be performing.

New Orleans and Louisiana reflect a stunning musical melting pot of influences from around the world. Take Me to the River New Orleans LIVE! presents the musical history, heritage, and legacy of one of our most unique cultural jewels. The show features individual and collaborative performances from a lineup packed with legendary Crescent City talent, including the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Ivan and Ian Neville, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, and Big Chief Romeo Bougere of the 9th Ward Hunters.   www.takemetotheriver.org/performers
