Staying at Hotel Maya & 4/19 Concert preview, Dining at Fuego, LB Watersports in Long Beach, April 2021

Hotel Maya-

What a fantastic visit to Hotel Maya we had recently. You feel like you are in a beach-side island resort that is so relaxing with beautiful views of the water, a fantastic Latin atmosphere and great food at their restaurant Fuego. There are so many amenities from the fitness center, swimming pool, ping pong, sand areas, fire pits, dog friendly, wifi, fresh made chocolate chip cookies, waters when you check in, smores and dogs allowed (both at minimal fees) business center to name some.

Fuego offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with indoor and outdoor seating. The outside is the place to sit with fantastic views of the water and downtown Long Beach.

For breakfast, we tried a variety of the yogurt with granola, omelet with potatoes and bacon, french toast and a couple pancakes. Enough for all 3 of us and plentiful.

The dinner was spectacular with the great atmosphere, views and wonderful service. The food was divine. We started with the fresh guacamole & salsa with chips as well as the fuego salad with a piece of salmon. For entrees, we went for the filet with mashed potatoes, burger with fries and pan roasted shrimp with crispy cauliflower and brussels sprouts. We tried sides of corn and the plantains. For dessert, go for the Mayan Legend baked chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. The restaurant is amazing and many people just come to dine when they are not staying at the hotel as well. Make your reservations as they do get booked up.

Overall, this is one of the best and favorite hotels of ours in the Southern California area.  The rooms are clean, comfortable and fabulous.    Photos by Sammy and Jaime Elliot

We had a great experience with Long Beach Watersports located right on the dock behind Fuego restaurant. The owner Brian was very hospitable along with his staff. We took out a waverunner and it was a blast. Kids can ride on the back and you can ride in the ocean watching your speed with the waves. They offer day tours to Catalina which sounds like a blast. For sure will have to try that on a future visit.
