Dining in other areas Outside of Los Angeles

Dining in Palisades, Tahoe at Wildflour, The Rocker and the Plumpjack Cafe- March 2024

The PlumpJack Café is not to miss on your next visit to Palisades. This intimate and exquisite dining experience will have you fully satisfied and has been around for a long time. Start with a cup of butternut squash soup and winter market salad. They have an array of appetizers including raw ahi served on a wonton crisp.

For entrées, the seared scallops with forbidden rice was decadent and my favorite. Other great choices were the king salmon served with wild mushrooms and barley, along with the fantastic burger cooked to your liking.  Enhance your meal with the Pumpjack martini and you’ll understand why this is one of the top places to dine in the area.  https://www.plumpjackcafe.com/

The Wildflour Baking Company, located in the village and provides homemade bakery and pastry items serving a delicious breakfast. I had a variety of breakfast items from their burrito, bagel sandwiches and  Em bomb (which is a combination of a pastry with eggs and potatoes inside). Don’t miss their fantastic smoothies and this place is a great way to start your day.

The owner, Susan, is very hospitable and they have an executive chef who came from the Ritz Carlton, who has a fine expertise in creative dishes.  https://www.wildflourski.com/

The Rocker in the village is a great stop to have a bite to eat anytime during the day including après ski, happy hour or dinner. The staff is wonderful and friendly. The manager Rachel was very accommodating and my server Jordan was professional with great positive energy.

For starters, I suggest the Korean Ribs with rice and kimchi, chicken wings and mountain corn on the cob as well as the highly suggested tomato basil soup.  For entrées. I went with the gnocchi and added chicken to the dish which is their signature dish and also the harvest grain bowl with chicken.

Overall a wonderful experience and you can see more at https://www.palisadestahoe.com/events-and-activities/dining-and-apres/rocker
