Looking to visit Cuba- Check out Cubania Travel- Highly recommend checking it out- April 2024

If you have any plans of going to Cuba, or even if you’ve been before, I recommend a fantastic Cuba tour company called Cubania Travel.   They can help you with the whole process, from arranging the necessary documents and information to get into the country as well as setting up different tours, depending on your preferences. I went for a more active tour and owner; Lucy customized it perfectly.  Longtime staff adventure guide Lazaro arranged my transportation as I flew into the airport, and I was taken directly to their bike shop. They stored my luggage while I went on a two-hour tour biking around the city, stopping at the most popular spots, taking photos and having lunch. A great way to start off the trip.

I checked in my Airbnb hotel in old Havana and it was a perfect location as you have to stay in a hostile or Airbnb if you’re from the United States, as opposed to a Hotel, which the government own.

After having dinner in town and listening to some music, I got a good night’s sleep to start the next part of the journey with Cubania Travel.  Lucy and Lazaro picked me up in the morning and took me across the country for two days, stopping in the Bay of Pigs where they arranged a fabulous snorkeling tour in the clearest, warm water I may have ever been in. They also arranged kayaking the next day at the Bay of Cienfuegos before heading to Trinidad where we stayed with a local family at B + B Alberto and Osmary.

I then enjoyed rum tasting, a salsa dance lesson and dinner at a local restaurant. It was action packed but I loved it. We headed back to Havana, and I spent my last night back in the city.

It can be a little nerve-racking when trying to plan a trip to Cuba, since there are certain rules and regulations, unlike any other country along with the passport, a visa where you can buy at the airport and an informative document that you need to fill out within 48 hours of your flight.  The most important part is you are supporting the Cuban people if asked, which I did plenty of between the tour, dining with local fish & rice/beans, and going to the San Juan shopping/art market to buy a bunch of items.

Overall, just a fantastic trip, and it couldn’t have been possible without Lucy and Lazaro at Cubania Travel.  More info at   www.cubaniatravel.com
