Chicago & Styx at the Kia Forum on Sept. 6th plus interview with Trumpet Co Founder Lee- Preview, Tickets
Chicago and Styx are coming together for their first-ever co-headlining tour! The two bands both got their start in Chicago and are bringing the best of the Midwest to venues nationwide with The Windy Cities Tour – All The Hits…Your Kind of Tour. The tour kicks off July 13 in West Palm Beach, FL and wraps September 6 in Los Angeles, CA.
Chicago will be embarking on their 59th touring season in 2026 as one of the longest-running and best-selling groups of all time and the highest charting American band in Billboard’s Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists. The first American band to ever chart albums in Billboard’s Pop Top 40 in five consecutive decades, Chicago has earned an impressive 49 gold and platinum awards throughout their distinguished career. In 2020 Chicago was awarded a Grammy for the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy.
Interview with Lee Loughnane is the trumpeter and founding member of Chicago
I chatted with Lee on a variety of subjects and here is the follow up from my questions with the iconic Chicago Band: Photo of me with Lee
Other co founders Jimmy Pankow and Robert Lamb are having health issues so not touring at this time. Lee is very proud of the band’s legacy with world class musicians with the epic Chicago music. Lee is the original member left and he will make it 60 yrs next year. The travel is the hardest part of touring as they take buses all over but Lee practices his trumpet and writes new music. The band always had multiple singers but the horns always were up front as that happened organically for concerts. They didn’t know the Styx band from before this tour but all has went great. They do a 90 min show when playing with another band or two 60 min sets when playing alone. Lee Loves touring it to bring smiles to peoples faces. He lives and lives in Sedona during his off time and enjoys time with his family. The band has new singers including Rudy Cardenas and Justin Avery and Carlos Murguia– who all came in as musicians and now are the lead singers.
