Dodgers fall to White Sox but still in the hunt for the Division Title (6/24/08)

The Dodgers continued their interleague play vs. the Chicago White Sox after losing 2 of 3 to the Indians.  They faced tough lefty Mark Buehrle (pictured below) who held the home team at bay for most of the game as Chicago took the opening game 6-1.  Buehrle pitched a strong 8 innings for his 5th win of the season and Jermaine Dye’s 17th Home Run in the 8th inning put the game out of reach.  Dye is pictured below with catcher AJ Pierzynski.

Derrick Lowe (pictured below) started effectively but was knocked out in the 8th inning. Scott Linebrink finished the game with a perfect 9th inning.

The White Sox were playing a little shorthanded with Paul Konerko on the DL, Jim Thome sitting out with no DH and Joe Crede taking the night off recovering from an injury. That didn’t stop the 1st place Sox in the first game of this 3 game series with manager Ozzie Guillen (pictured below) running the show.  Delwyn Young (pictured below) was one of the few bright spots hitting his first home run of the season. The Dodgers have been plagued by the injury bug with Andruw Jones, Garciaparra, Furcal, Penny and Kuroda on the DL or out lately. The team remains close to the Diamondbacks and in second place in the division as the summer heats up.  Keep updated with tickets and information at
