Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Los Angeles and EXTRA’s Mario Lopez Host “Uncork a Wish” Wine Tasting and Auction this Friday at The Beverly Hilton

An evening of fine wine, food and unique auction items will raise critical funds necessary to

grant 400 wishes of children facing a life-threatening medical condition in Los Angeles County

 

LOS ANGELES (WEDNESDAY, NOV. 30, 2011) – With wines from some of California’s most respected vineyards, delicacies for discerning foodies and unique live and silent auction items, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles will hold its “Uncork a Wish” Wine Tasting and Auction at The Beverly Hilton this Friday, Dec. 2 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Hosted by EXTRA’s Mario Lopez, the event is the charity’s major fundraiser of the year, designed to raise the critical funds to grant more than 400 wishes for local children facing life-threatening medical conditions.

With attendance expected to top 400 guests, the Greater Los Angeles chapter has secured the participation of 20 wineries from throughout the state, along withdiverse culinary tastings fromThe Cheesecake Factory, Dandy Don’s, McCormick and Schmick’s, Homegirl Cafe, Sushi Girl and Chez Jayannounced Breena Gold, president and CEO of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter. In addition, 19 corporations and individual supporters have chosen to sponsor “Uncork a Wish,” added Gold.

“Thanks to a compassionate and caring community who are so graciously joining us at our event, hundreds of children will receive their most heartfelt wish during the holiday season and all year long,” said Gold. “The average cost of a wish is $7,500 and this much-needed support from individuals and corporations is critical to delivering our heartfelt mission.”
