In the 3rd matchup between the top 2 teams in the western conference and a battle of LA, the Lakers defeated the Clippers 113-102 at Staples Center for this Home Clipper game.

Anthony Davis and Lebrun Janes led the way with 30 and 28 respectively.

Avery Bradley player his best game of the season with 24 points and the visiting Lakers pulled away in the 4th quarter after a back and forth first 3 quarters.

Paul George snd Kawhi Leonard led the home Clippers with 31 and 27 respectively. Marcus Morris has a dreadful game missing all 9 of his shots and ending with one point. Montrez Harrell had 20 points off the bench but he was the only other player in double figures for the Clips who fell to 43-20.

The playoff atmosphere game was intense from the start with each team taking and giving up leads in the first half.

This is the first game this season the Clippers have lost when they have been at full strength.  It would be a big surprise if they didn’t meet in the western conference finals to go to the championship finals.

Leonard said  “It was not a good loss. The Lakers were very aggressive. We didn’t play with too much pace as we were on our heels and that carried over to the second half.   It was one of those days where shots didn’t go down.  We have to bounce back.  We try to get Paul in his spots and situations.  We have a lot of talent on the team.  Anthony Davis is a great basketball player and I tried to contest all shots when while guarding him.   The Lakers came into the game with a lot of energy.  We were just timid at times. ”

Doc Rivers mentioned the lack of ball movement as the team had more turnovers than assists.

The star studded matchup did not let down as the sell out crowd at staples enjoyed the big rivalry as the Lakers (now 49-13) had many local fans routing for them as well. More at www.nba.com/clippers
