SF Giants salvage last game of series vs The Dodgers on Matt Moore’s 1 hitter- August 26th, 2016

The finale of the 3 game series was more crucial for the Giants than the Dodgers. LA started the night up by 3 games after defeating Bumgarner and Cueto in the first two games.  The Dodgers erased a huge lead in the standings even without Kershaw leading the major leagues in batting average and runs per game.  While San Francisco has a major league worst record since the all star game.

Manager Bruce Bochy is puzzled as he has his full team pretty much healthy along with making two key trades including third baseman Eduardo Nunez and starting pitcher Matt Moore to improve the team.  Moore started game 3 and took a no hitter into the 9th inning but Corey Seager blooped a 2 out single on his own bobble head night.  Moore was dominant making Dodger hitters look bad.   Bochy pulled Moore after his spectacular one hit night in favor of closer Santiago Casilla, who threw one pitch and got Turner to pop out to end the game.  He was backed by an rbi single by Brandon Belt and a 2 run HR by Joe Panik in the 4th inning.  They added another run in the 6th inning to make it 4-0 and the Dodgers never got close.

Up next are the first place Chicago Cubs over the weekend so we will see if they can play well vs the best team in baseball so far this year.   The Dodgers and Phillies completed a trade with popular catcher and Kershaw battery teammate AJ Ellis leaving and catcher Carlos Ruiz coming to LA with some minor leaguers and a little cash involved.
