CULTURAL FOOD LOS ANGELES ENDS 2007 WITH GREAT FOOD AND BEVERAGE LEADS, CONNECTIONS AND BUSINESS IDEAS

PORTLAND, MAINE, September 17, 2007 – The Los Angeles Convention Center was buzzing early last week with national retailers, distributors, manufacturers, foodservice and exhibitors experiencing aisles of new and tasty authentic foods and beverages from far away countries as Mexico to Korea at Cultural Food Los Angeles, the largest ethnic food and beverage trade event in the West.  The event attracted more than 5,000 industry trade professionals.

National retailer, Toni Arreola, from Costco had a wonderful time and said, “I’m here to seek out items for the Hispanic and Asian communities – unique items, top quality at the best price.  I have been here in years past so I know what to expect and I know that I can always find great vendors and great items.  So far I’ve had an excellent experience at the Expo.”

Not only did retailers find Cultural Food Los Angeles as a great success, but so did exhibitors.  Gaytan Foods from Southern California said, “We use the show to get name recognition and to launch new products.  We’ve been at the show 4 years now and each year has gotten better.  The show’s been so successful for us we wanted to take it this year to the next level and we expect to go even bigger next year.”

“We are please with the response we received this year from all the attendees and exhibitors embracing the new brand of Cultural Food and demonstrating that this show is important to the industry,” says Brian Randall, vice president of the Cultural Food Group at Diversified Business Communications.  “We are eager to be coming back to Los Angeles next year as Cultural Food and bringing the same excitement of new ethnic foods and beverages.”

Earlier this year, Cultural Food was launched as a new brand to highlight the next generation of ethnic food and beverage business events and online communities.  Cultural Food Los Angeles 2007 was the brand’s first demonstration that accented its exciting events and e-media opportunities for buyers from retail and foodservice.
