Lawry’s Ribeye new menu item at their popular establishment(8/13)

We went to the world famous LAWRY’S in Beverly Hills for a great dining experience and something new.  We loved the feeling of stepping back in time. The staff wears uniforms right out of the 1940’s. The decor of the restaurant reminds you that Hollywood royalty like Bogart and Gable ate there and the place still has the charm from those long lost days. Their big booths and huge dining room has been a Beverly Hills Icon for many years and reservations are a must as the place is packed most all the time.  They are celebrating their 75th anniversary and for the first time in 20 years they are adding something new to the menu.

“We’re very proud of our 75 year tradition of serving the finest in prime rib,” said Richard R. Frank, president and chief executive officer of Lawry’s Restaurants Inc. “We know beef best. With our experience, we can now bring guests our version of an American classic we call The Lawry’s Ribeye.”
A whole standing rib roast is slow cooked very rare over a bed of rock salt. Cuts of the 24 oz. bone-in or 12 oz. boneless prime rib are precisely portioned with a custom-built band saw. After seasoning with a special combination of herbs and spices, including Lawry’s Seasoned Salt, the beef is grilled to order. The result is a great looking—and great tasting—ribeye with the unique seared, caramelized texture and savory flavor that only comes from charbroiling. The newest menu addition is accompanied by the famous Spinning Bowl Salad, and served with creamy scallop potatoes and crispy fried onions.

Starting August 6th, you can get a first class The Lawry’s Ribeye as a change of pace from their classic Prime Rib.  The meat was perfectly prepared and accompanied with their famous spinning salad, Yorkshire pudding, scallop potatoes and thin crispy onion strings. The entire meal was fantastic and very filling so don’t fill up on their tasty bread at the start. Our  waitress helped us pair our dinner with some wonderful wines and she was very attentive. The manager Gina was very hospitable and we can see why customers keep coming back. Whether you are a first timer or a regular, run back to Lawry’s and try their new Rib- Eye dinner, as you wont be disappointed.  Of course you will see the carvers rolling through the dining room with their big carts.

Lawrys is the home of the beef bowl every year when the top college football teams playing for the Rose Bowl take over the restaurant for the annual event at the end of December where they get a lot of publicity.
