Porta Via Fine Dining Italian Restaurant in Beverly Hills is a Must Visit- December 2014

Owner Peter Garland has a fantastic Italian theme restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills called Porta Via Bisto Bar at 424 N. Canon.  The beautiful decor, nice booths and friendly staff/service make this a must visit.  Very cozy and intimate for a date night, family or friend’s meal, your experience will be great.  Start with the burrata and heirloom tomato along with the sauteed calamari.  This is about the only place I have found in LA that serves it this way as all other restaurants deep fry it only but you get the real taste with the delicious marinara style sauce that is also much healthier.  Another great healthy starter is their kale salad with a mixture of pine nuts, cooked leeks and grapefruit.  Enjoy one of their specialty cocktails or some wine to accompany your meal.

Next was the main course with so many great options to choose from. A definite must is their pasta (we had the spinach and ricotta ravioli and the rigatoni with meat sauce and they were both very tasty and cooked al dente.  With a wide variety of meats and seafood options, it was a difficult choice as so many sounded great. I went with the loup de mer (branzino) with grilled asparagus and it was fresh and delicious prepared simple with olive oil, salt, pepper and rosemary.  The broccoli was cooked to perfection and our meal was just about complete.  We ended with the butterscotch pudding and organic berries with ice cream.  Wow, what a meal!

 at his restaurant.

Wild caught seafood and “all natural” meats are brought in daily.
